Themed Reading Challenge

Arg, I've gone and gotten myself into another one! But it's not til next year and they're all on my TBR list, anyway. Thanks to
Wendy for thinking of it!

When I was putting my TBR list into LibraryThing, I noticed some trends, so this one was easy to pick for. Before I started finally watching Buffy and Angel on DVD, I probably wouldn't have considered myself a vampire fan, but apparently they've opened my mind, since I have 8 vamp books on the TBR list.

So, my theme is: Vampire fiction

1. Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore
2. Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz
3. Real Vampires Have Curves by Gerry Bartlett
4. Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith

Bloodsucking Fiends is one of my favourite books - it's sort of a meta book about vampire mythology. The sequel is called You Suck, and it's pretty good, too.

Also! Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, the Blood books by Tanya Huff (my favourites!), Salem's Lot by Stephen King, Lost Souls by Poppy Z. Brite (kind of hard to find but worth it), and Dracula by Bram Stoker (you are going to read the original, aren't you?)

I read You Suck without knowing it was a sequel and loved it, so I'm doing 'em backwards.

I looooved Twilight and am dying to read New Moon and brand-new Eclipse, but since this challenge is for next year I didn't want to wait that long to sink my teeth into them. :)

I've always been curious about Poppy Z. Brite but never read any of hers.

Hmmm...hadn't thought about Dracula...

I love the books by Stephanie Meyer (she has 3 in a series right now) about vampires, and I am really not a vampire fan.

Oh this is a good one and I've already read three of the four I could post about! I've finished reading all the Meyer books and am about to begin Dracula so I could do a vampire theme too!

Heather - there you go! :) It was surprisingly easy to find a theme once I started looking at my TBR list. I'm so behind - I just got New Moon and I *must* read it this time. It keeps coming in on hold and I let it go so the teens on the waiting list can have it. But I must get to it this time so I can read Eclipse!
